..Happy Anniversary to Mark & Erica..

Mark and I met a couple of years ago before we went on our mission trip to Guatemala.  The whole group bonded and for that next year leading up to the trip we all were pretty much inseparable.  Friendships rose and we all stayed in touch.  So about a year and a half ago when Mark proposed to Erica he asked me to photograph their engagement session and fun we did have.  They had another photographer shoot their wedding, but when Erica said she wanted to celebrate their anniversary in a special way…well lets say that I was up for it all!  She wanted to have a little fun with her dress by putting it back on to get into the Maumee river, play with soap suds, and water guns.  When she first asked me I wanted to jump in and do it right away, but we planned well in advance for a date in late August.  Plenty of time for me to get them for her to see by their anniversary of September 19th, which falls this weekend.  I’ve been waiting ALL week for this post and I couldn’t wait to share, but I really did want to make it an anniversary present for them!

Mark and Erica couldn’t be a more perfect fit for each other.  They are both fun, lovable, and if I said slightly goofy it would be an understatement.  They are willing and up to do anything that creatively came to mind.  Which is why I was thinking of naming my “trash the dress” session something along the lines of “My Photographer Made Me Do It.”  What do you think?

This is almost too much excitement for one blog post!!  Are you ready to see how much fun I had with this amazing couple??

Hence, “My Photographer Made Me Do It!”

Mark was shifting his glasses while I took the shot, but I like it!

Hello Mrs. Montgomery!

One of my FAVORITES!

Or should I say this one, I can’t decide…

Time to start getting fun…I love that Mark was willing to jump in and do it all too!

We moved to a local park and had some extra unordinary fun!!  Their game faces…

Taking three paces apart…

And shoot!

Washing Mark’s dirt bike became an all out battle…

Erica says to the ladies, “It was just that easy.”

Mark and Erica THANK YOU!  I love you both dearly and I had the absolute BEST time.  Have a wonderful anniversary weekend and congrats on your one year of marriage 🙂

..ONE YEAR..

P.S. My husband and I also have room to celebrate.  Today marks our relationship of being together for 11 years.  Yep, you could say it is a long time but it’s nothing when I love him so much.  Love you Brad!

..Abby Said Yes to Jeff..

Her favorite color is pink, his is blue.  She loves Thanksgiving and fall, and he loves Christmas and winter.  Meet Abby and Jeff, a couple that had worked together at Kroger for about three years.  They realized that after ten months of being friends that they no longer had that option, they wanted a relationship.  And after being with this couple for a short period of time I could see why.  He was quiet, reserved, and a little shy.  And Abby well she has this spunky personality and a contagious giggle that can’t help but make you, well….giggle!

Abby saw her cousin’s engagement session about a year and a half ago and realized then and there that I was going to photograph her wedding.  At that time there wasn’t even a ring on her finger!  (WOW, I just love that!)  So after Jeff got down on one knee at her 22nd birthday dinner at Olive Garden, she knew she was ready to start planning.  This girl figured out something that sometimes brides don’t figure out.  She figured out that capturing your wedding day through photographs is one of the biggest things to invest in.  It’s something that gets passed down for ages and something that your kids and grandkids will cherish forever.  And with Abby and Jeff’s date being one of the most sought after for this next wedding season, it was a good thing she knew early exactly what she wanted.

Here is Jeff’s gift to Abby…

I love him looking at her…

This one is one of my favorites!

Can’t you just hear her giggle?

Jeff and Abby, June 11th will be here before you know it!  Happy planning and thank you for choosing me!

..PLAN AHEAD..

P.S.  It just so happens that this same weekend I photographed Abby’s cousin again!  Can’t wait to show you some of that uber rad session, stay tuned 😉

..Jenna & Bryan said I Do..

Remember a couple of weeks ago with Jared and Jessica’s wedding I spoke of a third Whirlpool Park lifeguard getting married this summer?  Well here she is, my friend Jenna.  Whirlpool park is when Jenna and I’s friendship really blossomed.  She played basketball and softball when I was in volleyball and track.  We were never in the same sports and she was a year younger than I.  We did get to see each other on occasion when hanging out with friends but mostly our time together included 40-70 hours a week at the park.  We loved working together and her, Patrick, Jared, the rest of the gang, and I really made it fun and definitely interesting.  We were sure to keep our bosses full of laughs and always guessing at our next crazy antics.  But I can also say for Jenna and I we had a connection that most girls don’t have at that age.  Something that we could talk about and encourage each other in.  It’s a tough world out there and when you have just one other girl to lean on and passionately believe in the same thing, it is just beautiful.

In January Jenna called me and said that she was getting married, I was just plain ecstatic.  “I met this guy, and he is like no one I have ever dated before,” she stated.  I remember going back to the conversations we use to have at the park and she thanked me personally for all the encouragement I gave her.  I told her that endurance was the key and only one person could give it to her, not me nor anyone else.  He lives upstairs and I’m not talking about your attic, I mean the Big Man!

So I had to laugh when it was inevitable the forecast spoke rain, and not just a little bit of rain!  It was one of those days where not even the weatherman could mess this forecast up.  But luckily for Jenna and Bryan that means many, many, and many years of good luck and marriage.  After all it rained on my wedding day, buckets and buckets of rain.  I firmly believe that God was truly happy about the marriage that was going to take place on this beautifully overcast, cloudy, and rainy afternoon.

I’ve always wanted to post a whole wedding in Black and White and since this beautiful couple already has access to their color images… 🙂

This one by Nicole…

So much about Jenna, meet Bryan her handsome husband.  He told his family he would only be in Ohio for a year after a job transfer from New York.  Then he met Jenna and his whole world changed.

I just LOVE the light on Kim’s face right before he got to walk his only daughter down the aisle.

And the look on Bryan’s face when he saw her for the very first time on that wonderful day.

Jenna is not a crier, but she could hardly contain herself.  The look on her husband-to-be’s face says it all.

She was just so happy.

I caught Bryan playing with his new ring.

And since we really couldn’t go outside, I got to use this beautiful hallway of natural light.

I think that happiness was written all over their faces…

Okay so it’s not a complete and total b&w post… The great looking bridal party outside for a quick picture!

Jenna & Bryan, thank you so much for allowing me to capture the day as it came.  Rainy or not you know that the both of you have many years of marriage ahead of you!

..RAINY DAY..

..Introducing the Mosaic Album..

Can I just tell you how excited I am for this post?  It’s like Christmas a couple months early!  Bride’s and groom’s (mostly just bride’s 😉 ) our new Mosaic album line is here!  If you are looking for a modern and uber trendy album line, I am happy to annouce that I have what your looking for!

Mosaic met Patrick and Jessica on an album consultation appointment.  They picked out their two favorite deluxe and exotic leathers, selected their cover design, and opted for a cameo insert.  They wanted fun, different, and something that fit them.  When it arrived at my door and I opened it I knew that we nailed it.

I wanted to hand deliver it to Patrick and Jessica because I couldn’t wait to see the reactions on their face.  If it was Christmas for me I  knew it would have felt like 4th of July and Christmas combined for them!  Unfortunately, the night I was suppose to deliver it, my husband got the flu.  (Thats why I have been absent a couple of days, I had to take care of numero uno, my family.)  So the next day on our way home I left it for the happy couple to see.  That night as I was cooking dinner I got the phone call.  I greeted  Mrs. Burkin a hello and the other line responded, “Echo, it’s so beautiful it deserved more than a text to tell you so.  We absolutely love it! ”  It felt oh so great to deliver exactly what they hoped for.

Get ready to love it…

Thick story book pages…

A really great presentation box for storage…

Amazing modern leathers and cameo…

Great binding…

Beautiful color…

Lay-flat design…

All equals yumminess!

Mosaic Recipe for all you bride’s wanting details:

The Burkin’s stunning album features a black ostrich leather with a white artic stripe that wraps all the way around.  The album is a 10×10 in size when closed.  On the front they chose to insert a cameo of approximately a 5×7.  It holds 24 pages with approximately 75 images.

There are many other leather and layout options for your picking!  Ask about our Mosaic line today!

..Hooray it's the weekend, sneak peek..

It’s the holiday weekend and families are pulling out the campers, the tents, the fishing poles, the barbeques, and getting together for that good ol’ family reunion time.  I know some plan special trips this weekend that are long-awaited all year-long and the countdown till next year has already begun for some.  But during all this time of fun and games I hope that you do your best to think smart and be safe.  For me this weekend brings time watching my nephew play football, a reunion with extended family, and time scheduled to lay around and be lazy if I feel like it!  So like everyone else taking the weekend off I will see you back here on Tuesday!

But to send everyone off to a great weekend I know that this new family of two has been itching to see a sneak peek.

Congratulations to Jenna and Bryan, I can’t wait to show you more of your special day later next week!
