I adore this couple!!! Ever since I met them at Panera months ago, I knew we had this special connection. It’s like we were already friends, and we hadn’t seen each other in years. That’s when I knew that this day would be a special one! In the months following (after finding out my unexpected news), my pregnancy became a very big question mark on whether or not I would be with them. The weeks leading up to August 6th were like standing on a teeter-totter, just not quite sure what was going to happen. Monday’s ..Sneak Peek.. to their wedding explains the prayers that Jaci and Brett were sending to the ‘Big Man Upstairs.’
Knowing that I was so close to the end of my pregnancy, Jaci and Brett agreed to let me photograph half a day. My fabulous assistants Jaylene and Nicole were to cover the rest of the day. Being two hours from our hospital, it was the safest bet for baby and I! So when I arrived, the happy couple was ELATED that I had made it, even with my hubby in tow….just in case!
For Brad and I, it was surreal. It was the first time each of us had been back in the same church that we were married in almost 3.5 years ago. The crazy part is that the day was looking like it would be much of the same as it had been for us years ago, with the down pouring rain shortly before we got to the church. The great part about this particular day is that it cleared up enough for us to get a lot of portraits outside before the wedding started. As a plus side to rain, it is said that it brings luck and many happy years of marriage! So just as I was finishing up with Jaci it began to sprinkle, we hurried inside as the sky let go of the rain for the joyous ceremony. Brett was beaming at the alter while Jaci and her parents had an emotional walk down the aisle. The greatest part about it all was that not a single person in the room or even the rainy weather outside could wipe the smiles off of the happy couple’s faces. It was all too priceless.
The church was one packed house…more than I had ever seen at any wedding before! So after they released their guests and had a quick get away, they were back in a jiffy to get all those pictures taken. We were SUPER lucky as the rain held off for me to give Brett and Jaci the photos that they all too much wanted and deserved. As we were wrapping up, the storms were about to roll in and let loose again. I squeezed my adored couple goodbye, wished them many congrats and put them into the amazing hands of my assistants for the rest of their evening. For me it was time to head back south, elevate my feet, and put down my camera until after baby.
Brett and Jaci, thank you sooooo much for being the amazing couple that you were! Thank you for being so flexible, understanding, and just down right loveable! Hoping these photos are enough to tide you over until I can get the rest to you as quickly as possible! A huge congrats to the Messmer and Bostelman families, what an amazing family you have already created.
