..Sneak Peek to Western Carribbean | We Said I Do..

The first day back…it had been weeks since I had photographed really anything since the birth of my lil’ man.  I was nervous because I just didn’t know how my body was going to react to the day’s work ahead.  All nerves aside, I walked into Jodi and Corey’s day MORE than excited.  It was time to explore my camera on one beautiful September afternoon!

So while I catch up on my editing, I send this sneak peek out to the newly weds.  Hopefully you are enjoying your time in the sun!  Catch a few rays for me while your on that get away cruise!

Can’t wait to show you more from this wedding day!  Congratulations to Corey and Jodi and thank you to the very hospitable Watts and Duncan family’s!

..Tyler & Meagan | We Said I Do..

I sat across from them in the coffee shop just days after their engagement, they had already decided that I was going to photograph their wedding day!  However, much like each of my August brides they received word that I wasn’t going to be with them as they exchanged their valued nuptials.  Instead, just one week prior I was going to be carrying home a baby bundle.  Unable to make the trip 2 hours north to be with them, I entrusted two great photographers that would be able to take my place to be with this amazing couple!  (Thank you to Nicole and Jaylene for today’s blog post images!)

Looking from the outside in I felt like I was there in each of the moments: The excitement as Meagan slipped in her dress for the first time, the tears in Tyler’s eyes as Meagan walked down the aisle, and the sentiment of the moment at the altar, where the couple reflected over the unity candle they just lit.  I wish I was able to be in those moments myself, to have helped create the beautiful imagery of the Mr. & Mrs. in Tyler’s family vineyard!  Looking in, it looked like a day that shouldn’t have been missed.  A day that they will always cherish and be thankful for those who were able to support their very first day of marriage!  I envy those whom were able to attend and will pray for the journey that Tyler and Meagan have entered into.  You both looked equally stunning!

..Mark & Lindsay | We Said I Do..

Lindsay comes from a great family, one that I have enjoyed being a part of!  I actually met her through her sister, whom was my college roommate.  When the news came of her engagement I was happy to have been asked to be the one to capture her wedding day!  I had only met Mark on a brief occasion, but knew he must have been a great guy if Lindsay had him around.

Shortly after spending some time with the happy couple in late November at their ..Engagement Session.., I had to make a painful call.  I had just found out that I was pregnant.  Sadly, I was due just days before Lindsay and Mark were going to tie the knot.  I was crushed!  I knew it was going to be hard to hand over a wedding that I deeply wanted to be apart of.  So while I sat in my hospital bed holding my lil’ man, I had a great backup to take over the day for me.  So today all of the image credit goes to my dear friend Jaylene.

Lindsay and Mark, many congratulations to you!  I wish I could have been there to celebrate in your special day, I hope it is everything you imagined it would be!

..My Maternity Leave | Talking Business..

The time has come… I am officially taking maternity leave.  At this time I need to take a ‘moment’ to prepare my mind, body, and spirit for what is to come and I couldn’t be more excited about it all!  As much as I would love to continue to hang out with all of my beloved readers here on the blog, I will be taking the next several weeks off.  By several I am estimating at least until the last week of September.  If for some reason that needs to change then I will definitely be sure to fill you in.

Brad and I are very excited about this new arrival in our life, and we can not wait to spend time with our baby.  If your new and just stopping by for the first time, thank you for checking me out!  I promise to get back with you as soon as I am available.  I look forward to speaking with you, meeting you, and photographing the special time in your life… I know EXACTLY how special those moments are!

So I will leave you ‘hanging’ for the next couple of weeks, but in the meantime enjoy just a couple of the maternity pictures that we had taken just a few weeks ago.  They were taken by our friends Susannah and Josue at ..Alumbra Photography..!  So go ahead… check them out, they are pretty awesome people!  Not to mention amazing photogs!

As much as I can’t promise anything, I will do my best to keep an eye out for any urgent emails.  Anything other than that such as blogging will for the most part be postponed until after my maternity leave.  Thank you so much for your support and understanding!

..Brett & Jaci | We Said I Do..

I adore this couple!!!  Ever since I met them at Panera months ago, I knew we had this special connection.  It’s like we were already friends, and we hadn’t seen each other in years.  That’s when I knew that this day would be a special one!  In the months following (after finding out my unexpected news), my pregnancy became a very big question mark on whether or not I would be with them.  The weeks leading up to August 6th were like standing on a teeter-totter, just not quite sure what was going to happen.  Monday’s ..Sneak Peek.. to their wedding explains the prayers that Jaci and Brett were sending to the ‘Big Man Upstairs.’

Knowing that I was so close to the end of my pregnancy, Jaci and Brett agreed to let me photograph half a day.  My fabulous assistants Jaylene and Nicole were to cover the rest of the day.  Being two hours from our hospital, it was the safest bet for baby and I!  So when I arrived, the happy couple was ELATED that I had made it, even with my hubby in tow….just in case!

For Brad and I, it was surreal.  It was the first time each of us had been back in the same church that we were married in almost 3.5 years ago.  The crazy part is that the day was looking like it would be much of the same as it had been for us years ago, with the down pouring rain shortly before we got to the church.  The great part about this particular day is that it cleared up enough for us to get a lot of portraits outside before the wedding started.  As a plus side to rain, it is said that it brings luck and many happy years of marriage!  So just as I was finishing up with Jaci it began to sprinkle, we hurried inside as the sky let go of the rain for the joyous ceremony.  Brett was beaming at the alter while Jaci and her parents had an emotional walk down the aisle.  The greatest part about it all was that not a single person in the room or even the rainy weather outside could wipe the smiles off of the happy couple’s faces.  It was all too priceless.

The church was one packed house…more than I had ever seen at any wedding before!  So after they released their guests and had a quick get away, they were back in a jiffy to get all those pictures taken.  We were SUPER lucky as the rain held off for me to give Brett and Jaci the photos that they all too much wanted and deserved.  As we were wrapping up, the storms were about to roll in and let loose again.  I squeezed my adored couple goodbye, wished them many congrats and put them into the amazing hands of my assistants for the rest of their evening.  For me it was time to head back south, elevate my feet, and put down my camera until after baby.

Brett and Jaci, thank you sooooo much for being the amazing couple that you were!  Thank you for being so flexible, understanding, and just down right loveable!  Hoping these photos are enough to tide you over until I can get the rest to you as quickly as possible!  A huge congrats to the Messmer and Bostelman families, what an amazing family you have already created.
